A POLICE Community Support Officer who disarmed a disgruntled man carrying an axe outside Redruth job centre has been commended for his bravery by magistrates.
PCSO Daniel Tildesley grabbed the axe from 60-year-old Philip Heath who was "like a boiling kettle" with frustration after receiving no benefits for seven weeks.
At Bodmin Magistrates' Court on Friday (November 13), chairman of the bench Mr C Spettigue thanked the officer and members of the public who assisted.
