The A38 in the Glynn Valley near Bodmin has now fully reopened following a fatal crash this morning.
Police were informed at around 2.15am of a multiple vehicle collision and a number of people seriously injured.
One person died while another remains in a critical condition in hospital following the collision, which involved a Saab and a Ford Fiesta.
Two other people are being treated for less serious injuries.
