Newquay lifeboat crews were scrambled to three separate incidents in just over three hours, which meant one dedicated volunteer had to miss his own birthday celebrations.
In total six people who got into difficulty in the sea were helped by the crew on Tuesday.
The first call was received at 10.30am when two men in a dinghy, near Fly Cellars, fired a distress flare after their propeller was damaged by angling gear and the boat began to drift towards rocks.
