With hundreds of beach-goers flocking to the Cornish coast to soak up the sunshine and the surf it's worth being familiar with a potential killer at the beach - rip currents.
Sometimes called rip tides, although not tidal, these occur all along our beautiful but potentially dangerous coast and flow out from the beach.
Approximately 160 people die each year after getting caught in rip currents, which makes them a top danger for beachgoers.
