A surfer has spoken of a desperate attempt to save a swimmer who died after getting into difficulty at Porthtowan yesterday.
Surfer Tony Smith was among rescuers who battled to save the man, who Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed was a 57-year-old from Truro.
