A 70-year-old man attempting to row from New York to the Isles of Scilly had a lucky escape after being rescued as his tiny craft rolled around like a ragdoll in huge swells.Norwegian Stein Hoff was 900 miles off Land's End when gale force winds hit his vessel.The adverse weather destroyed his rudder and caused Hoff to lose his oars.As he was too far from land for a helicopter rescue, Coastguards were forced to alert cargo ships in the area to go to his aid.Military aircrafts joined carrier...
